As festas restauraram o melanc\u00f3lico bar, que recentemente tem sido considerado eleg\u00edvel como marco e, desde ent\u00e3o, Mitchell e seus parceiros t\u00eam levado suas recentes m\u00fasicas de queer cuidadosamente selecionadas — rock cl\u00e1ssico, m\u00fasicas famosas do in\u00edcio do pop, al\u00e9m de soul, funk, punk, country, New Wave, hip hop old school — a quase uma d\u00fazia para cidades nos Estados Unidos e, internacionalmente, ao Rio de Janeiro e a Berlim.

\"\"John Cameron Mitchell (“Hedwig & the Angry Inch”) along with “Shortbus” collaborators Paul Dawson and PJ DeBoy started hosting and DJing Mattachine dance parties monthly nearly six years ago at New York City’s oldest gay bar, Julius’, where in 1966, America’s first gay rights organization, the Mattachine Society, protested the city’s then antiquated anti-gay laws. The parties revived the languishing bar, which has recently been granted eligibility for landmark status, and since then Mitchell and his partners have brought their carefully-curated songs of queer yesteryear–hand-made classic rock, early pop standards, soul, funk, punk, country, New Wave, old school hip hop–to nearly a dozen cites around the United States, and internationally, to Rio de Janeiro and Berlin.<\/i><\/span>
